We demonstrate a method to filter geological maps and present them in combination with other data in order to highlight areas of interest for further exploration work.
In MinersAI, the user can filter geological maps by lithology, age, rock type, etc. In this case we filtered by volcanic intrusives that are younger than the surrounding sedimentary rocks. Then we present these intrusives in combination with a heatmap of Copper abundance (generated using Kriging of sedimentary geochemistry data). The copper abundance is locally correlated to the presence of intrusive volcanics, which could have a causative relationship, and may warrant more of a close look at the geochemistry near the intrusive body to determine if there is evidence of mineralization.
